Stamping on bisque...

I've got a class coming up on Sunday at The Craft Barn in which we'll be stamping on bisque with the lovely Kim Dellow PaperArtsy stamps:

You can see from these that I've played with different effects using transparent and opaque Fresco paints.

You'll get to choose what you stamp on as Sandy's using up all her bisque pieces as she's not going to stock it any more - there are vases, coasters, frames, tiles, a jug etc. if you fancy joining us just go here.

Hot Picks galore!

Head on over to the PaperArtsy blog to see the new Hot Picks designs - they are fantastic!
Here's what I made:

Number Doll using Hot Picks HP1604

Numbers are the theme for this plate.

Home Sweet Home using Hot Picks HP1601

I just love these Dutch style gable houses, ideal for masking and stamping row on row to fill the background. The detail is incredible. I'm planning on stamping a never ending street to go round the wall.

Lest We Forget Arch using Hot Picks HP1606

Those big, bright and beautiful poppies tie in with the Poppy stencil ELB004. I love the poem 'In Flanders Fields' and have cut it up to go round the arch. This set also links up with HP1505.

Art in the Round using Hot Picks HP1605

This set has got everything: the wonderful collaged focal image and that great collage background which is so full of detail, the words, the numbers and the doors. I've stamped it to the full in this sample and thoroughly enjoyed myself!

Signs of Spring using Hot Picks HP1602

I've used the text and numbers to cut out extra leaves for my Spring flowers. Some really useful stamps in this set: patterns, text, numbers etc. I've stamped nearly all of them to build up my background.

Butterfly Dreams using Hot Picks HP1602

Same stamps but a different look: the stamping is rubbed out on the darker background to give a 'ghosting' effect.

Cover a Card ...

I've been playing around with some of the Impression Obsession Cover a Card stamps from The Craft Barn.
First of all, what to do with a brick wall?
Grow weeds up it with Woodware stamps:

Secondly make it into a fireplace with Lin Brown PaperArtsy stamps:

There's so much you can do with these backgrounds - I'll add some more later in the week.

Let's get Darcying....

I've been lucky enough to nab some of Darcy's new stamps for a workshop at The Craft Barn on Saturday 20 February.
We're going to be making a selection of ATCs with their very own box:

We'll be using tissue paper techniques, stencilling, Distress inkpads, glazing and more, so if you'd like to come along, just follow this link or phone 07958 569279.

Drum roll please.....

Yes, it's that time of year again - PaperArtsy new releases.
This time I've had the pleasure of working with a new PaperArtsy designer, Kay Carley. Kay has released two beautiful  stamp sets with delicate, fine line drawing.

I couldn't resist decorating this birdcage with layered up tissue paper flowers from the Cosmos set, EKC01, and a stuffed bird inside:

I had some of the flowers left over so then created this canvas:

After that, I wanted to try out the Allium set, EKC02, and decided to use it on fabric. These stamps lend themselves to embellishments so I got out my needle and thread and did some hand stitching. Apart from the words, everything is stamped with Fresco paints:

Lastly I mixed the two sets and made these glossy panels:

If you hop on over to the PaperArtsy blog you can see what everyone else has made - there are new releases coming out every night this week!
Many thanks to Kay for letting me be one of her wingmen - I think you'll agree, her designs are beautiful
